Two Paintings at the State Fair!

Illinois State Fair Professional Exhibition

I am happy to announce that this year I will have 2 paintings in the Professional Exhibition of the Illinois State Fair! Last year we exhibited Joseph and His Brothers, which took the 3rd place award.

The first is the painting you see above, The Last Supper, a 48" x 48" oil, which depicts the final meal Jesus shared with His disciples before He died. Peter holds the rooster, James and John are at Jesus' right and left,  Judas is at the bottom right with coins in a bag, ready to betray Him. 

The second painting going into the State Fair, is The Miraculous Draught of Fishes, another 48" x 48" oil painting. The painting depicts the moment at dawn when the Apostle Peter realized he had encountered a miracle. The Man telling him to cast out his nets after a fruitless night of work was actually Jesus, who had indeed risen from the dead, just as He said He would. I tried to capture the moment of utter shock and joy on his face, amidst the unexpected and miraculous abundance of fish.

The exhibition is held in a beautiful, air-conditioned building at the State Fair grounds in Springfield, Illinois. The Fair runs from Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 18th. For information see the State Fair website here.
